Local Information about St Keverne Village

View of St Keverne Church fron the Village Square

St.Keverne village clusters around the square, you'll find whitewashed cottages, a beautiful church, two pubs and a handful of shops. On summer evenings you might catch the St Keverne Band, or the Male Voice Choir, and the square really comes alive at the annual festivals of the Ox Roast which is held on the first Wednesday of every August.

Just a five minute walk from our camp site brings you to Roskillys at Tregellast Barton Farm, where you can follow lakeside and woodland nature trails. Or if you prefer you can watch the cows being milked, and taste the famous Roskillys Ice Cream which always goes down well with children!

The Giant Quoits, original rocks from The Manacles

A short walk down the hill from our site takes you to Porthoustock Village/Beach, just off the coast at Porthoustock is the Manacles - a group of jagged rocks lying beneath the surface of the water. These rocks are extremely popular with divers, both novice and experienced. But you do not have to get wet to get a glimps of these famous rocks, situated just a mile away from our site you can find the Giant's Quoits', this is a large formation of rocks which had stood for hundreds of years at Manacle Point and was re-sited to its present position in 1967.

And of course, no visit to St Keverne is complete without sampling the local Fish and Chips on sale as you enter the Village every Friday evening! If you cant treat yourself when you are on holiday when can you?!
